Our core competency is offering renewable wind energy as a service to enterprise building owners and lessees through the design, installation and operation of our proprietary micro-wind turbines installed in multiples on building rooftops. The renewable energy derived from the turbines is behind the building’s utility meter, is directly consumed within the building and reduces but never eliminates the building’s demand for utility supplied power.
We sell our renewable energy to the building owner or lessee under multi-year power purchase agreements at a per kW price always less than the utility supplied power. Our customers lock in a long-term supply of renewable energy at an essentially fixed per kilowatt price, eliminating the highly variable cost of utility supplied power.
In this way, building owners both reduce their building’s carbon footprint and lower their energy costs. Our offering contributes to these targets without any capital expenditure required of them.
We underwrite the entire cost of the installation, operation, maintenance and removal of the turbines (at term end) and always partner with a well-regarded electrical contractor local to the building site which contractor designs the installation in consultation with the building owner/lessee and maintains the turbines throughout the term.
Our energy as a service offering is particularly effective in locales with historically strong wind properties, high utility supplied energy costs and buildings with relatively unobstructed roof lines. Our turbines, while visibly low profile, convey to your customers, guests and employees a meaningful display of your enterprise’s contribution to the environment.
Our proprietary Vento360® branded vertical axis (not a propeller type) turbine blade design is based on a proprietary fluid dynamics-based set of algorithms which produces a materially more efficient blade shape creating lift even at a relatively low RPM. When installed, the turbines appear to be a solid four or six feet tall structural white architectural element above and behind the building’s roof parapet.
They require virtually no maintenance and are made from UV protected ASA plastic which we recycle in-house into new turbines to ensure a virtual cradle-to-cradle life cycle. The installation of the turbines requires virtually no heavy equipment, no site-specific engineering and is performed using simple hand tools. Similarly, the permitting of the installation and interconnection with the local utility is usually straightforward. The roof condition is immaterial to us unlike solar panel installations.
In the face of truly inclement forecasted weather (above 60 mph of wind), we either lower the turbines’ profiles or remove them entirely from the roof and reinstall them after the weather has cleared.
Locations other than commercial buildings are also suitable for our Vento360 turbines such as street light poles, billboards, bridges, cell towers and commercial ships.
We do not sell our Vento360 turbines nor offer our energy as a service to consumers or individual residents.
